About Chapters
The Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE) is committed to its chapters. Chapters play a crucial role in communicating the needs of the regional/local area and are instrumental in setting the direction of the international Society.
Chapter Definition
Since 1986, the SITE Board of Directors has established chapters in various geographic areas to assist the Society in achieving its goal of increasing the level of professionalism of the incentive industry worldwide. Chapters serve SITE members and other incentive industry professionals by providing education programs, information services and networking opportunities. Chapters also provide input to SITE Headquarters on incentive industry trends, are non-commercial spokespersons for the local incentive industry, and suggest speakers and program ideas for SITE and industry events.
SITE Headquarters Role
SITE Headquarters works closely with chapter leaders and the SITE Chapter Council, providing information, guidance and assistance in many areas. Headquarters provides:
- guidance and support on chapter operations;
- membership status reports to assist in local follow-up and membership renewal efforts;
- membership recruitment materials and other SITE publications, including InSITE and the SITE Chapter News newsletter, to encourage membership development;
- financial support through revenue sharing;
- assistance and information for local public relations efforts;
- a Chapter Leadership meeting, at least annually, for all current and incoming Chapter leaders to exchange information.
Chapter Council Role:
Recognizing that chapters can learn much from each other, the Chapter Council's purpose is to create opportunities where leaders can support each other, learn from each other, and be more connected with the Board of Directors.
The Chapter Council is the liaison between the Board of Directors and the chapters. The Council serves to assist in increasing this synergy. The Council is composed of experienced leaders of SITE Chapters throughout the world, and each works with specific chapters.
