THE SOCIETY OF INCENTIVE & TRAVEL EXECUTIVES TOUTS AWARD-WINNING CHAPTERS AT THE SITE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE 2006

CHICAGO - During The Society of Incentive & Travel Executives' (SITE) International Conference 2006 in December, five chapters received awards for their unparalleled efforts in 2006. Chapters were required to submit an application on the merits of their programs and award winners were selected by the Chapter Leadership Council in the categories of Education, Special Events, Membership, Wild Card, and Chapter of the Year. 2006 Winners included:

Education - SITE Florida
Membership - SITE Great Britain
Special Event - SITE Southern California
Wild Card - SITE New Zealand

SITE Finland won the 2006 SITE Chapter of the Year. Finland is geographically a large country, however, it is only inhabited by 5.2 million people. The SITE membership represents regions from the very south to the very north, with a majority of the members working within the inbound incentive travel arena. Despite the long distances, SITE Finland has managed to arrange interesting educational events always attended by more than half of the membership. Additional achievements include a website in Finnish to best serve its members, an expert process for strategic and budget planning, and a heavily utilized feedback forum where members can quickly communicate their ideas for activities and development to the Board of Directors.

"Our chapters are truly the backbone of our organization supporting SITE's purpose of fostering networking and professional development among individuals and business entities involved in the use of motivation, incentives, and travel rewards," said SITE President Lex Granaada. "We are proud of these volunteers and award-winning chapters for their hard work, creativity and dedication to our industry."

The 34 global chapters of SITE play a crucial role in communicating the needs of the regional/local area and are instrumental in setting the direction of the international Society.

"All of our 2006 winning chapters have common strategic approaches allowing them to be at the pinnacle of success," said SITE CEO, Brenda Anderson . "To name a few, they are each engaged in strategic planning, understand the pulse of their membership and lean on SITE headquarters for expert guidance. We thank them all for serving as role models not only for our organization but also for the industry as a whole. We are inspired by their achievements and look forward to their continued growth."
