SOCIETY OF INCENTIVE AND TRAVEL EXECTIVES NAMES SITE IRELAND CHAPTER OF THE YEAR CHICAGO - During The Society of Incentive & Travel Executives' (SITE) International Conference in December, five chapters received awards for their unparalleled efforts in 2007. Chapters submitted applications outlining the merits of their programs, and the Chapter Leadership Council selected award winners in the categories of Education, Special Events, Membership, Wild Card and Chapter of the Year. Winners are:
SITE Ireland won the 2007 SITE Chapter of the Year. SITE Ireland's goal for 2007 was to create opportunities for social, networking, and educational events for members. In particular, they focused on driving membership and encouraging young member participation. They also wanted to embrace and provide outreach to all of Ireland , expanding beyond the borders of Dublin. Chapter leaders made a strategic decision to include two non-Dublin members on the Board to support change in perception of membership. These nine dedicated board members met once a month through the year and delivered results, including:

"These volunteers and award-winning chapters epitomize the professionalism and results that SITE members are renowned for around the world." SITE's 34 global chapters play a crucial role in communicating the needs of the regional and local area and are instrumental in setting the direction of the international Society. "All the 2007 winning chapters have adopted strategic approaches that put them to be at the pinnacle of success," said SITE CEO Brenda Anderson. "We thank them for serving as role models for our organization and the industry as a whole. Their achievements are inspirational and will certainly drive continued growth."
