SITE Committee Descriptions

The Call for Volunteers for the international membership is held in August of every year. Members send their preferred commitments to the Headquarters staff in order to be considered for service.

Commitment

By-Laws/Policy

Performs general reviews of the Society's bylaws and policies and makes recommendations for updating and revising them as needed. 

6 conference calls, individual bylaw and policy and procedures review and e-mail communication as required.

Chapter Council

Serves as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the chapters, mentor to the chapters, to create opportunities where leaders can support each other, learn from each other, contribute to development of the ESNEP and IT&ME chapter leadership meeting and the International Conference leadership day training.

10-12 conference calls; attendance at Chapter Leadership Meetings at the SITE International Conference, ESNEP and IT&ME; communication with assigned chapters as needed.

Crystal Awards

Prepares and promotes the awards competition, secures judges for the program, defines categories and rules for awards and develops strategies to attract as wide a global entry field as possible.

8-10 conference calls per year, e-mail discussions.

Education 

Supports the Call for Speaker process by encouraging submissions from region, helps direct the overall content including selection of topics and speakers for the International Conference. Supports on-site management of education including room set up, speaker introductions, and evaluation completion.

10-12 conference calls per year, abstract review, breakout speaker recommendations, keynote speaker recommendations, one in-person meeting at the SITE International Conference.

Ethics

Acts as counsel and decision-maker on cases of alleged unethical conduct involving a SITE member and takes heed of legal advice on such matters while ensuring complete confidentiality at all times.

Conference calls as issues are brought to the committee's attention.

Event Selection

Provides strategic oversight in deciding SITE International Conference location including RFP process and generating interest among destinations. Additional support work in generating destination leads for other SITE events such as Executive Summit, ESNEP and SITE Academy .

10-12 conference calls per year, discussion on the Event Selection bulletin board, interface with destinations to encourage bid submission.

Membership

Develops and expands the SITE membership profile while maximizing benefits for existing members, develops targeted recruitment campaigns utilizing the existing membership network, increases member awareness of benefits and enhances a sense of belonging and actively encourages members to participate in SITE activities.

12 conference calls per calendar year, discussions on the membership committee bulletin board, and at least one month of serving as a sponsor for those needing referrals.

Nominations

Produces a group of well-qualified candidates for election as a Director of the International SITE Board, reviews nomination procedures and supervises elections in a highly confidential and professional manner, insures all candidates and their employers have a thorough grasp of the task and commitment levels involved.

4-5 conference calls per calendar year and e-mail discussions as needed.

Starwood

Support of the Starwood Scholars program for SITE 's International Conference including oversight for budget, development of candidate list, invitations, applicant review and on-site hospitality.

 4-5 conference calls per calendar year, e-mail discussions as needed, on-site hospitality for scholars at SITE 's International Conference.

Young Leaders Program

Increase member awareness and participation in YLP through offering education sessions at SITE events, column in In SITE , hosting YLP receptions and actively engage in the development and execution of SITE Academy including achievement of fiscal goals.

12 – 15 conference calls per year (heavier leading up to SITE Academy ), e-mail communications, support of an assigned role related to event education or SITE Academy .
